DIGITAL SHORTS 0910 CALL FOR ENTRIES

Northern Ireland Screen and the UK Film Council's New Cinema Fund are pleased to announce the launch of the Digital Shorts Scheme 2009/10 in Northern Ireland. The Scheme will be executively produced by Villi Ragnarsson of Red Ray Films.

Digital Shorts

  • Up to twelve projects will be selected from writer/director and writer and director teams to go through an initial development process starting in November 2009.
  • Applicants can submit up to three projects for consideration under the Digital Shorts Scheme.
  • Four films of up to ten minutes in duration will be selected in February 2010 to go into production in May 2010.
  • The production budget for a Digital Short film will range from £7,000 up to £15,000. Final Production budgets will be approved by Northern Ireland Screen and UK Film Council. A production company will be attached to the four projects through the production process.
  • Film duration will range between three and ten minutes. Final film length will be approved by Northern Ireland Screen and UK Film Council.
  • Final delivery will take place in August 2010.
  • The deadline for entries to Digital Shorts is Monday 26 October 2009.

As part of the Scheme outreach programme Northern Ireland Screen is holding a promotional event at Blick Shared Studios on Thursday 24th September 2009 from 10am until 5pm.

Interested applicants can come along to Blick Studios to discuss their potential project and learn more about the Scheme.
